Are you looking for a manufacturer of special machines? Graux is the reference partner for many industries: Food, Defense, Medical, Pharma, Chemical, Aerospace, Steel and Metallurgy, Environment, Glass, Vacuum Technology, Design offices…
Article from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry: GRAUX, partner of the high-tech industry!
If, since its foundation in 1934, Graux has remained a family business – the4th generation is now in charge – this is not its only feat. This SME based in Momignies, in the heart of the Hainaut region, can pride itself on having adapted to all the changes in its business to achieve a high level of competence. “The world of sheet metal work underwent a revolutionary change with the advent of automation and numerical controls. In the 80’s, we decided not to make this investment but rather to develop our assembly and welding activities for which the customers’ demands were for more and more complex products”, explains Marc Chanteux, Managing Director of Graux. “Today, we are able to build special machines from A to Z, from a file or plan that is submitted to us, since we do not do engineering, to the first power up in our facilities!”
Permanent investments
Such know-how is obviously not improvised, but is the result of a certain experience in the field! “Our strength is our versatility, which leads us to work with a wide range of sectors, from heavy industry such as glass or steel to the more specialized aerospace or medical sectors,”says Julien Chanteux, the company’s director and great-grandson of its founder. “These sectors obviously require us to operate within a very tight regulatory framework,” adds Marc Chanteux. “The specific materials we buy and use, such as special steels, stainless steel, aluminum, are certified, traced, controlled, etc. In order to develop this system, which allows us to meet the needs of all sectors, we are committed to a policy of permanent investment: 5,000m² of facilities, 4 technical engineers, state-of-the-art calibrated equipment, quality machining equipment, etc. Sometimes we have more machines than people… Since these complex materials require quality welds, Graux also specializes strongly in welding to meet the most demanding assembly standards. An international specialist is present to define the welding procedures and all the project managers and welding coordinators check that these are carried out correctly.
Qualified and certified (ISO 9001), the Graux company has chosen to work with high value-added markets rather than opting for mass production. However, it remains aware of its limits… “One of our values is realism” explains Julien Chanteux. “We know what we can do and the projects submitted to us are systematically analyzed beforehand. Our second value is sharing: we exchange as much as possible with our customers for whom we want to be the “open” workshop of their design office. In order to facilitate these exchanges, the customer has a single contact at Graux, since we have set up project managers. We owe this relationship of transparency, satisfaction and trust to our third value: rigor. Of course, we operate in a neat, punctual and orderly manner, but above all we scrupulously respect the plans entrusted to us. As all the details count, there is no question of taking liberties!”
This gives full meaning to the company’s motto: “Cooperate to last”…
